Delete Your Account

Last updated: 21 September 2026

You can ask Atheq LLP to close your account and delete your personal data at any time. This applies to the website and to the Atheq app for Android.

1. How to ask

In the app or on the website: sign in, open Profile, and press Request account deletion at the bottom of the page.

By email: if you cannot sign in, or you only use the marketplace, email privacy@atheqwealth.com with the subject “Delete my account”. Send it from the email address you use to sign in, so we know the request is really from you.

We will reply in writing within 30 days.

2. What we delete

  • Your profile: name, phone number, address and occupation
  • Your next of kin details
  • Your saved bank account details
  • Your notification settings and the app’s push notification link to your phone
  • Your sign-in access. You will not be able to sign in again.

3. What we must keep, and for how long

Nigerian law requires us to keep some records after an account is closed. We keep only these, only for as long as the law says, and use them for nothing else:

  • Account and transaction records, for 6 years after the account is closed (company and tax law)
  • Payment records, for 7 years (tax audit law)
  • Identity checks, such as your NIN, for 5 years after the account is closed (anti-money-laundering law)
  • Support and complaint records, for 3 years after the matter is resolved
  • Security logs, for up to 12 months
  • Records of formal votes and resolutions you took part in are kept permanently, as company law requires

After that, they are deleted or made anonymous. Our Privacy Policy (section 7) has the full list.

4. If you still have money with us

We cannot close an account that still holds money. If yours does, we will contact you to pay it out to your bank account under the agreement you signed, then close the account.
